Many seem to believe that the worst way to experiment with an idea is to build production-quality code. I disagree, if for no other reason that the odds of that code being refactored into "production quality" are close to zero. Great programmers have quality in their genes.

Requirements are not the same as expectations. Requirements tend to focus on the implementation details, while expectations are all about the outcomes and the impact on the market. Expectations are blissfully uninterested about the implementation. One way or another make it so.

I find it dubious and tedious when we attempt to apply principles, that seem to work in human organizations, to mechanical systems (such as software). And vice versa. What works in software doesn't seem to work in human orgs (Single Responsibility Principle for example).
