Why doesn’t trickle down economics work in a time of uncertainty? Because the wealthy when getting tax cuts in that situation save all they get, and spend nothing more, which means nothing trickles down and society just gets ever more divided. That’s why.
@RichardJMurphy You imply trickle down economics work in a time of certainty. A rising tide may lift all boats but the only certainty is that the rich get richest.
@RichardJMurphy Spot on and there is plenty of evidence out there.
@RichardJMurphy @_EyesWideOpen__ Trickle Down economics doesn't even work. It doesn't exist. Trickle UP Economics however....
@RichardJMurphy @CDentonParker And also that it’s going to gush upwards. youtu.be/abBBFrkMU4k
@RichardJMurphy It's like imagining winning a triple rollover and distributing the wealth. Self made billionaires and aristocrats are not socialists either.
@RichardJMurphy Everyone I've ever known, or known of, who were seriously well off were noticeably careful with their spending. Definitely not profligate with their spending. I always thought I'll never be rich because in my experience those who have serious money hang on to it.
@RichardJMurphy So are you also saying that in times of certainty, it does work?
@RichardJMurphy Even in better times the money barely trickles down.
@RichardJMurphy I agree, the way to boost the economy is to put money in the pockets of the millions of workers who would spend us out of this
