If Jeff Bezos can pay to dismantle a bridge in the Netherlands to fit his super yacht… Then his company should have no trouble paying its fair share in taxes so we can build bridges in America.
@RepAdamSchiff If people are mildly wealthy society doesn’t have a right to their wealth; if people are extremely wealthy people have a right to their wealth. How much money should a person make before society has the ethical right to tell them how to use it or to take it from them?
@RepAdamSchiff Ha! He just raised Amazon Prime membership prices to pay for that bridge. Billionaires don’t touch their own money for anything. We pay for all their toys.
@RepAdamSchiff Rather than vilifying the wealthy, I'd much rather witness tax expenditure efficiency improvement. Unless Mr. Bezos is breaking the law these public attacks are unwarranted & distasteful. Also, please define "fair share"...
@RepAdamSchiff @TeeASS And he doesn’t need to raise the price of Amazon Prime in the middle of a pandemic. He says it’s because gas prices are higher. Does he not realize we all buy gas too? He’s the one making all the billions though, not us. Record breaking billions during the pandemic but raise rate
@RepAdamSchiff Bezos is hiking his prices to pay for his luxury. Kroger CEO got a 45% raise. But we allow them to tell us prices are up because of inflation. Let’s call it what it is, GREED.
@RepAdamSchiff To build a $500M yacht (obscene, but…), he sold $1B of his stock and paid $500M+ of tax on realized gains. That ain’t fair? Seems .gov benefits from this exchange. Can’t have a hero without a villain? A hammer looking for a nail? Common denominator for all politicians. Why?
@RepAdamSchiff @adelayna2 You are always worried about things that don't matter. How about you look into the massive stock fraud and manipulation happening to $AMC theaters?
@RepAdamSchiff Isn’t it YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to fix the tax code?
@RepAdamSchiff Disappointing tweet. Honestly expected more from you than warmed-over Robert Reich.
