My favorite thing so far about Breakfast with Seneca is the idea that you can break free from the narrow confines of your own time by reading the books of long dead philosophers. This is also true when reading history books, watching period movies, and visiting historic sites.

Just finished re-reading Deep Survival by Lawrence Gonzales. What shines about this book is it's examination of the psychological and spiritual aspects of survival even for the non-adventurous. Having a strong mindset is as important in life as in the wilderness.
