AMAZING: Jamie Raskin absolutely RIPS into Republicans for their draconian book-banning censorship crusade. More than 1,600 books have been banned over the past 2 years, including award-winning novels: The Kite Runner -- About the dangerous fanaticism and authoritarianism of the Taliban, and censorship and suppressing women's control over their own bodies. The Handmaid's Tale -- a cautionary tale about a right-wing religious misogynist movement that uses technology to control people's minds, private lives, and fertility And, of course, the novel 1984 "because they have no sense of irony," he adds. Rep. Raskin goes on to note the audacity of Republicans refusing to act after the mass shootings in Sandy Hook, Parkland, Uvalde, and more but believe keeping The Handmaid's Tale and 1984 from kids will keep them safe. t.co/78tbwEEAd6
@ReallyAmerican1 Nobody wants to ban his graphic porn books. He can still get all of them he wants. Why does he want to show them to underage kids?
@ReallyAmerican1 Someone can always make a speech, regardless of Party, & make statements as fact, without facts. "1600 books were banned" Okay, WHO banned what? He mentions 3 books by Republicans. Including "1984". But not "Das Kapital"? Odd. The Left bans as well. snopes.com/fact-check/ban…
@ReallyAmerican1 That’s nice but he is still a purveyor of corruption.
@ReallyAmerican1 @GrrlScientist Who is banning books?
@ReallyAmerican1 @mmpadellan Ah, i see. Raskin wants to show small children prawn. Thank you for the update @ReallyAmerican1 doing good work out there.
@ReallyAmerican1 Question- In what state in the USA is it illegal for me to buy/own/read "The Kite Runner" and "The Handmaid's Tale?" Or, are these states just giving PARENTS the right to say no to these books by not allowing the schools to force these books on their children?
@ReallyAmerican1 .@RepRaskin has always been badass. But the head coverings sent by @StevieVanZandt multiply it by at least 1,000. Thank you for standing up for kids’ rights to read books that will expand their minds.
