Giving an injury prone pitcher, albeit an all-time great one, a five-year guaranteed contract at those numbers is a humongous gamble. The @Mets made the absolute right decision walking away. They know him better than anyone and knew it wouldn’t be wise to even come close.
@RealMichaelKay @Mets This is the correct take. The Mets have plenty of money to spend elsewhere now.
@RealMichaelKay @Mets You know Rodon will be a Met now
@RealMichaelKay @Mets Fair point. But, my understanding upon the Mets getting out of the Wilpon business, and into the Steve Cohen business was that the uber deep pockets allow for gambles like this right? ESP for “this generations Seaver” as folks have called him? By that logic, no Verlander either.
@RealMichaelKay @Mets Yes Thank You! Love Jake but 38 starts and 16 wins the last 3 yrs does not warrant a 34 yr old oft injured pitcher $40 million a year fir 5 yrs! Thanks for the memories 48! You financially secured your family bc you don’t go to aTexas to win World Series
@RealMichaelKay @CGRamos7 @Mets Mets never even had a chance to match that crazy offer. Thats my gripe
@RealMichaelKay @Mets I am a life long Yankee fan so you are important figure to me so all I will say is I respectfully disagree
@RealMichaelKay @Mets Yeah right 😉😉 I see you trolling on the down low. Love it. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
@RealMichaelKay @Mets Wow so every talking head in NY says Bon Voyage DeGrom good move, which kind of reminds me when every talking head said Verlander was done and then he went to Houston.
