There have been a lot of claims lately about the water at Dilley. Here it is, unedited.
Dilley's drinking water comes from the City of Dilley's municipal system — the same water the surrounding community drinks. The city tests it monthly. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has assessed it independently. Annual water quality reports are published publicly under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Libraries don't generate headlines very often. But they remain an important resource inside our facilities, providing access to books, educational materials and opportunities for learning and personal growth. Follow along as we share a closer look at the realities of our facilities. #RealCoreCivic
These claims don't reflect the care provided at Dilley. Residents receive three daily meals from a dietitian-approved menu, plus snacks that are replenished twice a day. Water is provided through the City of Dilley's municipal system, the same source used by the local community. More at the link in our bio.
Last year, Casey Revkin learned that parents at the South Texas Family Residential Center reported finding cockroaches in their food and said their children were vomiting after drinking the tap water.
“I wanted to help fix some of that,” Revkin said. wapo.st/4xBfyht

The Dilley facility was opened in 2014 under the Obama administration. Decisions regarding immigration policy and detention are made by the federal government, not CoreCivic. Our role is to provide care, services and support for the families at our facility while operating under extensive oversight, regular inspections and monitoring.
For each baby, child and pregnant woman thrown into the Dilley Trailer Prison, there is an American company—CoreCivic—with American investors profiting from their suffering.
ICE must be disbanded and we must shut down Dilley.

Not everything that happens inside our facilities makes headlines. Dental care is one of the many services available to individuals in our care. This treatment room is part of the medical unit, where routine dental needs can be addressed on site. Follow Real CoreCivic for a closer look at facility operations and the people who support them every day.
Eloy Detention Center operates under significant federal oversight, including daily monitoring by ICE officials, routine audits and inspections, and established detention standards. Housing decisions and other detention-specific policies are governed by federal standards and oversight. CoreCivic's responsibility is to provide safe, humane care, and concerns can be raised through multiple grievance and reporting channels. I've seen the conditions inside ICE detention centers firsthand. They are horrific. These abuses are a moral stain on our country. We cannot continue to fund and legitimize a system that strips people of their dignity and violates their human rights.

The public deserves accurate information. Claims that Stewart Detention Center does not provide clean drinking water or access to medical services are false. Individuals in our care have access to clean drinking water, on-site medical services and other essential resources. While allegations should be taken seriously and reviewed, public conversations should be grounded in facts. The recent congressional visit does not change those facts or support claims that these basic services are unavailable. Learn more and review the facts at the link in our bio.
Claims that individuals are required to wear unwashed clothing are inaccurate and do not reflect facility practices. Individuals are issued new or clean, serviceable clothing, have regular access to laundry services six days per week, and blankets and linens are routinely laundered. Concerns brought through the grievance process are taken seriously and reviewed through established channels. For additional information about our operations and standards of care, please visit the link in our bio.
Leaked video from ICE detention—vaginal disease spreading among female detainees.
"Almost all of us here have vaginal infections," she says.
"Because the underwear they give us is already used and unwashed."
A lawsuit has already been filed against this ICE detention center.

UPDATE—2 year old boy gravely sick in detention finally allowed to drink formula by ICE guards.
Many are asking whether public pressure works.

There's a lot said online about medical care in our facilities. The reality is pretty simple: individuals have access to on-site medical and dental services, routine health assessments and clinical support. Access to health care is one of many services available to help meet the needs of those in our care. To read more, click the link in our bio.
@SenJeffMerkley The portrayal of Dilley in this post does not reflect the facility's day-to-day operations. For context, the facility provides access to clean water, on-site medical services, routine health oversight and a range of educational resources for children in its care. Those resources include licensed, bilingual educators, art, robotics, physical education, technology-equipped classrooms and a library with more than 50,000 books. For full context and facts, visit the link in our bio.
CoreCivic is dedicated to providing evidence-based educational and rehabilitative programs that help those in our care prepare for reentry from day one. This includes access to GED & college courses, vocational programs and more. Learn more: hubs.li/Q04rnMpC0
