Tip: Chrome DevTools > Lighthouse visualizes what's in the JavaScript you ship with a Treemap 🔥 e.g. Bluesky uses React Native Web, MobX & Lodash. This tooling helps you understand what's unused, module sizes and if you have duplicate dependencies.
Amazing to see how fast BlueSky was able to get a v1 website and app built by a small team using Expo and React and RN. Makes such a difference when you can write once and put most of your energy into product instead of platforms.
React + DOM question: What are the main use cases for accessing the DOM in React apps? I mean accessing nodes, attributes, traversing the tree though parent/child links, etc. beyond the common use cases like focus management. What libraries make extensive us of this?

I’m beyond excited that @necolas and the other react folks are now helping make stylex open source. It’ll take a little while longer but with the input of a whole bunch of smart people, it’s going to be better than ever!
The React org is working to open source "stylex", the JavaScript style library used at Meta. Although inspired by the approach taken in React Native for Web, stylex generates the atomic CSS at build time for a smaller runtime bundle.
The web platform is one of the most valuable in the React Native/Expo ecosystem cuz it forces us to focus on long term stability, backwards compatibility, and thoughtful API design. This design then propagates into native API and leads to a much more pleasant developer experience

@maxlynch @capacitorjs @ricburton - Native + web code can work together, not anymore a one size fits all approach a la RN. - PWA as a first-class citizen strategy. - Clean, simple tooling, great docs. - No random external app (e.g. Expo) to work. - It just works! Even with an existing CRA app I had no issues.
@ReactWeb What’s more, there are so many DOM libraries out there which don’t necessarily depend on HTML elements in particular. Like renderers. If React Native can implement DOM, then we can render it using Svelte, Vue, Angular – whatever!
@necolas @yungsters @reactnative All I want is official recognition in React Native communication / mentions that it is a proper platform. If it's done for React native for macOS / Windows, it should be done for the web too.
Purposefully didn’t add “documenting turbo modules, JSI, fabric, and metro” because those are obvious and should’ve been done already 🙄
@rickhanlonii Yes but « React Native » isn’t perfect. Many people think it’s at the same level than react-dom, and don’t understand react-native-web value. They don’t see RN API design.

@reactnative @floydophone Very nice to see the plans to improve experiences on desktop and VR, but I must say that I expected to see you mention React Native being used on web projects in Facebook too. I guess that's why community and Expo exist, to fill in the gaps.
