Wait, there's absolutely no mandated leave entitlements in the US??? Not even sick leave? Wtf do you all do when you get sick???
For reference in Australia, we have mandated minimum 20 days of annual leave and 10 days paid sick leave per year that accrue over time - and if you quit your job when they pay you out the days of annual leave you have banked up. The idea of not having sick leave is baffling
@Ranting_Trans Canada has no mandated sick leave unless a fed employee, and many provinces such as mine don't have any either. But we do at least have mat leave & EI will cover short term disability claims. Like most things, we suck more than most but less than the US boundlesshq.com/guides/canada/…
@Ranting_Trans How are people still discovering this? This has been a very vocal thing about the US other than our guns. You either go in sick or pray they don't fire you
@Ranting_Trans Non-Australians are also fascinated when I explain the concept of 'long-service leave'. I don't know any other country that has it.
@Ranting_Trans I don’t know how that idea started but here is the link to places where you can find answers. Many people don’t know their rights. worker.gov/wp-content/upl…
