TODAY: @WaffleHouse workers are on STRIKE in Atlanta to demand an end to their mandatory meal deduction policy. Deducting $3 from our pay every shift, regardless of whether we eat, is unjust. We are calling on @USDOL to investigate. #UnionsForAll
On March 5th, we delivered our demands to the Flat Shoals Waffle House location. With no response, we are on strike for four days. x.com/RaiseUptheSout…

@RaiseUptheSouth @USDOL If people are willing to work at Waffle House to serve the public, they deserve a free meal every shift no matter what.
@RaiseUptheSouth @USDOL I take it they dont have a dental plan either…..
@RaiseUptheSouth @USDOL Man pay these ppl! Hard workers have to beg for a livible wage, shameful.
@RaiseUptheSouth @USDOL Waffle House doesn't have to worry about anything. I'm sure they will find people to replace them won't complain. There is no longer a labor shortage, and this is a trainable occupation. Tyson showed the entire US how easy we are to replace with the power Bidenomics.
@RaiseUptheSouth @USDOL This is a video of TRUE AMERICANS. I hope people in other countries see us, we here in the USA, struggle so they know we struggle with them. American workers deserve fair wages and safe working conditions!
Employees working four hours or more are allowed to eat two meals per day plus snacks and beverages, according to the Waffle House meal credit policy. They are also allowed any item on the menu for free, outside of meats such as dinner steaks, pork chops and chicken — for which they must pay additional costs. The policy states that when a meal time is not available during a shift, an employee may be compensated for the time it takes to eat a meal before or after the shift. No work duties should be performed by a non-exempt hourly restaurant associate during the meal period. Employees must consume meals at the restaurant, and no food is allowed to be taken home. However, if any food is taken home it would be considered a “to go” order and must be paid for at full price.
@RaiseUptheSouth @MIHCWUnited @USDOL It's wage theft.
@RaiseUptheSouth @USDOL $3 a day and you can eat twice and drink as much soda as you want. Nowhere else in America offers food that cheap.
