Can’t recommend this highly enough. My childhood was in a tight Christian community during the 1970s. Not a cult, but I recognized so much of the cultural context that @martyrmade described to understand how this Commie “pastor” could build his in the 60s & 70s. Wild days, man!

@RadicalLib @martyrmade There's a Rockford episode called "Quickie Nirvana" where Jim deals w/ a Hippie named Sky who he describes as moving from budda, to Indian meditation to any random movement to avoid "thinking for oneself". She ends up in a strict "church". Jones had nothing to do w/ Christianity
@RadicalLib @martyrmade I was in a cult, its a long story but the struggle sessions hit really close to home.
@RadicalLib @martyrmade There’s much to yet be uncovered regarding intelligence agencies and military personnel; and their involvement in the “counter” culture coup of the 60s/70s. Many heads should roll.
@RadicalLib @martyrmade This series made my night shife enjoyable
@RadicalLib @martyrmade Grew up in Children of God, a group with very similar connections to politicians and a shady set of Col.’s and media figures. This series felt like someone else’s vantage point of my life.
