Sugar is sugar is sugar! It does not matter whether sugar comes from fruit, vegetables, grains, a soft drink or even juice; it is all sugar. The body cannot distinguish between “natural sugar” and table sugar. To a diabetic, sugar is a disaster—yes, even natural sugars. It spikes glucose, and when ingested with multiple small meals (as recommended by the ADA and DGA to keep glucose levels stable 🤡), it keeps insulin levels elevated—insulin, the fat-storage hormone! There you have it, type 2 diabetes explained in one paragraph. Sugar, especially fructose, is not healthy. It burdens the liver, the cardiovascular system, and the mitochondria. So, does the brain require sugar? The answer is both yes and no. The brain can function optimally on ketones or glucose, and the liver makes both. There is no need for dietary carbs (sugar) if enough protein is provided.
@REV_Insulin_Res for non-diabetics and apple banana and slice of watermelon on occasion are probably fine OJ too but in 1950's juice glasses 6-8 ounces (not 16 or 20 ounce to-go cups)
@REV_Insulin_Res I'm working hard to eliminate all the sugar I can from my diet. Your work here is an inspiration... glad I discovered you. I also am a great believer in the work of Ivor Cummins. Thank you Joe
@REV_Insulin_Res and this lump of sugar :)
@REV_Insulin_Res If I listened to every health advisor or health expert per-say, about food, I wouldn't be eating a thing and starve to death. Every one of them has something bad to say about every thing out there. I will listen to my body, not all the ill advise that is being displayed today.
