We often focus on high-end weapons for Ukraine, but Ukraine also needs many basic systems like M113 or armored humvees in large numbers. Providing more M113 is a simple way to reduce Ukrainian KIA/WIA.

@RALee85 Your insight plus tact, judgment and diplomatic maturity so valuable.
@RALee85 America could send 500 bradleys tomorrow and not blink
@RALee85 I imagine both M113 and Humvees are incredibly cheap to provide as well since there are thousands of leftovers sitting in storage with practically no financial value remaining. @ColbyBadhwar Any idea why these havent been provided under the PDA for scrap value?
@RALee85 @DAlperovitch Everyone hates on M113s in US aid & acts like we are treating Ukraine like garbage for giving them "old" m113s. The m113 is very good at what it does, which is why it is still in use. It's NOT good at combat despite looking armored, which is why it has a bad reputation.
@RALee85 There's no point Ukraine negotiating with Russia. At some point, its going to have to consider its options. Does falling back behind the Dnieper give it it's best chance of surviving?
@RALee85 I'm surprised Germany hasn't delivered more. They've got ~907 Fuchs APCs (684 in active service), a vehicle already being replaced with the Boxer. Hopefully @RheinmetallAG's joint venture with @ukroboronprom will actually start manufacturing Fuchs APCs in Ukraine this year.
@RALee85 @KofmanMichael One of the great mysterious of my adult life, the withholding of the M113s
@RALee85 unfortunately I don't see a solution to this. the West sucks right now badly
@RALee85 @KofmanMichael Could Humvees and M113 be bought by european countries from the US and then be delivered to ukraine?
