This will likely be an important battle. Chasiv Yar is located on defensible high ground. If Russia takes the city, they could potentially increase the rate of advance deeper into Donetsk Oblast as part of an expected summer offensive. Russian forces will still have to cross the canal to take the city, but they have now reached the canal southeast of the city. Immediate increased deliveries of ammunition could prove critical. @RALee85 Thank you to all of you (you, @Tatarigami_UA, @Deepstate_UA) for keeping us up-to-date. God Bless the Ukrainian defenders. And to any Congressman or woman, sign the discharge petition! The very least we can do is keep our word. 🇺🇦🇺🇸
@RALee85 It is not a question "if" but when. In 7 or 15 days. Even Ukrainians admit the town is impossible to defend.
@RALee85 @Rebel44CZ Isn‘t the most plausible way for the russian offensive that they will try to outflank Chasiv Yar in the north and in the south and only afterwards will try to capture the city itself? Especially the terrain in the north is lower &, thus, more suitable for the russians to abwance
@RALee85 russians will lose 1000s they don’t care … they’ll take Chasiv Yar … just a matter of time
@RALee85 What city is more important? Avdiivka or Chasiv Yar?
@RALee85 To all the defeatists in this thread: Glory to Ukraine!
@RALee85 @IntelCrab Let’s hope all the commitments from last year will finally arrive
@RALee85 Shortage of AD will make this fight extremely hard for UKR if VKS can fly fixed and rotary wing CAS unmolested.
@RALee85 I'm having trouble understanding why the outer edges of approach aren't very heavily mined or are they and I'm not seeing it? Seems too often Russia too quickly gets to a city's edge unimpeded.
