Good example on the tactical level of why tanks are still critical for supporting infantry advances against entrenched defensive positions. Video from Ukraine’s Georgian Legion. t.me/killpukin/11537
@RALee85 The USMC and I disagree. IFVs are better. Russian infantry have no modern AT, making obsolete vehicles effective against them.
@RALee85 "Combined arms hits the enemy with two or more arms simultaneously in such a manner that the actions he must take to defend himself from one make him more vulnerable to another." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_…
@RALee85 Yeah but the Ukranians are using dismounts to support their armor. Time after time in videos I have seen the Russians do not support their armor with infantry making them easy kills for soldiers with ATG's.
@RALee85 With ATGMs ranging 5km, tanks scouted by trops have less and less value. One shot there and tank and trops explode together. New technologies for armor must come and give some extra life for tanks.
@RALee85 List of obsolete armor, proven in the HI war: - Combat choppers (manpads like stinger) - Tanks (at’s like javelin) - AD without AAD (harm) - Fixed defenses like trenches without support of at or arty - SPG without smart shells - MLRS without smart missiles
@RALee85 It is interesting to see the disembarked infantry maintain more distance from the tank than you see in the movies and maintain spacing more as described in the 'Panzer Tactics' book
@RALee85 O tanks are still clearly extremely important. The ones we don’t know about with the anti drone infantry standing near by and they are just as powerful as ever. Improvise, ai ain’t gonna take us humans out that easy. We already have their version of a nuke anyways Megaton emp
@RALee85 And to all the troops in this video, if you survive with all the horrors of war you see. You gotta keep fighting even after the war is over. Never give up on life on this plane of existence. Live like a warrior. Always.
@RALee85 To be fair if the same tank would have engaged UA soldiers or Georgian Legion's operatives from the same distance it would have been obliterated with a couple of AT4/Panzerfaust 3, but undoubtedly in 2022 the MBT is still an irreplaceable force multiplier
