Celebrate Black History Month with us as we highlight the history currently being made in Region XIV. Of our 9 teams, 7 are currently being led by a black head coach. Follow along as we highlight those coaches!
Trenia Tillis Hoard has led @TJCWBB since 2000. Coach Hoard has amassed over 500 career victories, and sent more than 100 players on to the 4 year level. When Coach T led Tyler to the NJCAA national championship in 2022, she became the first black woman to accomplish the feat.
Byron Coleman took the reins of @Lady_Runners in 2005 and has since amassed 300 career wins and counting. In 17 seasons, Coach Coleman has coached an NJCAA POTY, been to 14 region tourneys, 1 national tourney, and also owns the AC program mark for wins in a single season at 29.
Precious Ivy is in her 4th season leading @TVCCwbball She boasts an 86-12 record (87.8 win %), 3 NJCAA National Tournament Appearances, 2 Region XIV Tournament Championships, and 3 Region XIV Regular Season Championships. Coach Ivy was 2020 Region XIV Coach of the Year as well.
