@JimmyOnInOne @NASA You’re overstating the blur by a lot. In 30 sec Earth rotates just 0.125° = 1/2880 of a turn. On a full-disk Earth image that is only a tiny projected shift, not the dramatic smear you’re implying. Star-trail logic for point sources does not transfer like that to Earth.

@JimmyOnInOne @Undaunted4lyfe @NASA You’re confusing star trails with Earth blur. The 25 to 30 second astro rule is for stars shot from a camera fixed on rotating Earth. This is Earth shot from Orion. NASA said the first image used a longer shutter. Different geometry different blur problem.
