good read
i like that the space is shifting to a more social era. with this comes devs and traders who WANT to build a legacy on chain. whether it be with cool projects, or large pnls.
both motivating factors bring cool projects and coins communities can get behind, which is a win win for trader and creator ;).
"something just got scanned in my alpha and it is perhaps the best thing I have seen in the last 6 months"
dont get me wrong, solana season is coming back and runners are returning. but we can't forget what most of us have been staring at for months: endless low caps rotated in and out, every one dead on arrival.
and it makes sense when you follow the money. launchpads and devs profit more on low cap rotation than a real runner. the slop is the business model.
nothing changes if nothing changes, make memes great again.
@alpha_pls the revenue-to-holders thing is playing out already, you can see it with the RWA protocols on rh, base, and even sol now. they're also doing pretty well. but lets not forget how cyclical on chain is with meta tokens.
@RyanWatkins_ Very great piece.
Cash flows make a token investable, but liquidity is what makes it survivable, revenue doesn't save you if the lp underneath is frail.
@AbsorbA11 slow cooks have longevity issues because they're launched from platforms which don't want slow cooks. look at the fee structure, draining tradings and thining the lp.
it's more profitable for pump to crime a token and be done with it in a day, and then move onto the next token.
@Jeremybtc people are missing proper conviction these days, and then they'll wonder why their pnl is negative lol.
aping low caps can hit VERY rarely into a 10x+, but usually you're much safer forming a nice conviction on a higher cap token which has had time for it's chart to play out.
on chain is a very weird space rn. there's a rotation meta, yet we are still seeing people make very good money from simply holding.
a bull market brings a lot more opportunity, however yes it does not mean you are guaranteed to be able to seize all of that opportunity to make some money.
don't let everyones pnl fool you, or make you change your trading strategy. find what works for you and master it. profits are profits 😁.
you never go broke taking profits.
there will never be certainty of when to sell while in a trade, however p is always p. sometimes you sell to early or sell to late.
i think this sentiment will only get worse as we move from bear to bull, as people who are used to taking profits earlier to de-risk will see how much profit they missed.
however, green is green.
wallets as confluence instead of a signal is the healthiest shift the social meta brought. copying a wallet in and out is just outsourcing your decisions to someone who might be exiting on you.
using them for awareness, what's getting attention, then forming your own read, is how it should work.
rh is a much more institutionalized chain, being backed by a major financial institution in the US. and hoenstly, rh chain came at a time where sol was not doing well at all.
but don't be confused, the good days for sol are coming again, new tech will come, and sol will have its runners again.
lol a bit of a hard read without the spaces.
but i agree that there is a house on chain. signing traders and faking airdrops all being mechanisms to keep people buying tokens on chain.
we all know which house im talking about ^
unfortunate that the space we all came to with one sol and a dream is completely dominated by a company wanting us to get rinsed on low caps.
i think the high rotation meta has completely killed peoples views on memecoins. now everyone is just looking for quick runners and 20% gains.
one thing i hope to see more of is cto. memecoins run a lot better when the community isn't at the mercy of the dev, it's better the token is shared by the community.
the chain wars are hot right now
rh, base, bnb, solana all competing for marketshare. and these chain wars are only amplified by the chain agnosticism of apps like @fomo.
but let's not forget one of the main reasons why most of us are here: 1 sol and a dream.
solana was a place where dreams were born, a promise that a small position can become a life changing one.
and for too long now, solana has been plagued by extractive tech, and launchpads who kill tokens with exhaustive fee structures.
as solana season is starting to come back, let's hope that we can make memes great again, and bring back our hopes of 1 sol and a dream.
let's launch on meme.fun
@OwariETH right now sol space just isn't setup for runners and winners. i mean they exist, but we're in a high rotation meta where low caps are much more profitable for launchpads.
but those days will end, and Solana season will come back so done give up all hope :)
i think this very much applies for current market conditions right now. we are still in a bear market, so aping randomly at tokens will get you extracted; fees, rugs, honeypots etc.
but in a bull market, doing less can bite you in the ass. if you aren't losing money or gaining money, you're just standing still.
all these chains competing for market share and capital right now is genuinely good for the trader. when chains have to fight for you with runners and opportunity, you're the one who benefits.
but still, paying for runners and KOLs brings liquidity in, but it doesn't make it stay.
i think fomo is more geared to put your money where your mouth is.
anyone on CT can start faking pnls, and saying they made 6 figures in an hour, and then go ahead and farm an audience and delete tweets.
fomo you actually gotta make money, and your txn history is on chain for all to see.
