The issue is a lack of central planning and new cities coupled with mass immigration. All of these are problems caused by capitalist economics which serves the landlord and corporate classes by importing cheap labour to create upward pressure on rent and downward pressure on wages There’s a reason the places with the best housing policies have restricted borders or closed borders
@ProjectLiberal We don't need more landlord controlled apartment units we need more affordable single family homes with backyards
@ProjectLiberal Capitalism needs socialism to function
@ProjectLiberal There will be no lasting solution until housing ceases to be a commodity altogether, and the right to housing becomes as inalienable as the right to food (another thing that the US still refuses to recognise as a human right).
@ProjectLiberal But you keep allying with the people that want to blame capitalism.
@ProjectLiberal Capitalism is literally the reason homelessness exists, any solution that doesn't account for that is not a solution but a grift.
@ProjectLiberal Well yeah blame capitalism in this case. google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc…
@ProjectLiberal the crazy thing is socialists would be the last people to be upset by yimby policy, but the problem is it doesn't go far enough to address systematic inequity and the relationship between landowners and tenants
