Any body can google a blood presssure medication and say “oh wow i’m not giving this,their BP is 90/60, need to inform the doc” not something you need school for

@VincentTennell @_iDoTheMost Any honest nurse will tell you 90% of the things they learned in nursing school isn’t applicable to their nursing job. A lot of nursing jobs could be started with just a patient safety course and 3 month preceptorship

@DEEthatDUDE @ProfesionalGHST @VincentTennell @_iDoTheMost hi RN here, all new grads typically get 2-3 months of orientation in a hospital setting regardless of how “great” they are. nursing school really only teaches you how to pass NCLEX which is the licensure exam.

@BLACK_n_gin_ear @ProfesionalGHST @VincentTennell @_iDoTheMost hi i’m a nurse, when we are new grads or newer to a hospital we also receive training from a nurse preceptor that works on the floor. i’ve found myself unable to recall meds or protocols for that unit plenty of times so i just ask another nurse.
