The Police Race Action Plan, which orders police to treat minorities differently, was developed and launched under the Boris Johnson Conservative government. Chris Philp and Kemi Badenoch were ministers in that government. I want to hear a sincere public apology from them.

This is not the whole idea of prison. Interaction such as ‘Family contact’ for instance is a pillar of rehabilitation. People need something/someone(s) to go out to.

Take HMP Swaleside. The Chief Inspector has just walked out of this 1,100 bed jail, describing to ministers conditions so violent he could not stay. Yet in this highest risk environment HMPPS has managed to deliver just *19* individual stab vests to frontline staff. 5/

If seeing the police take down the Golders Green suspect you are in awe of their bravery, remember prison officers often have to take weapons like knives off convicted violet offenders like him, often never using a strike. They still do not have stab vests. And nobody sees it.
Fully support the kicks to the head by the Police to disarm and achieve compliance in high risk life threatening situation. If we could apply the same support to prison officers who walk the landings with just a baton, when most prisoners have access to knives, that’d be great.
