This has been the worst school year. Not only due to behaviors, but also in the personal lives of myself, my staff, and my kids. We all need a break.

I absolutely love my job, but it breaks my heart way too often. It’s never the kids, it’s the situations they are in.
I backed this on kickstarter 6 years ago and I am still as excited about it today as I was then
But being autistic (especially with added PTSD) is emotionally draining. It convinces me that a lot of horrible things are actually my fault (even if it makes no real sense)
And unfortunately it keeps trying to find patterns. Like how I was terrified to get surgery because i didn’t want my boyfriend to die. My last boyfriend died after I had surgery. Thankfully, breaking patterns makes things a little easier.
My autistic brain loves to find patterns. Even if they aren’t real. It makes me think that a lot of horrible things are my fault because of a fake pattern.
The autistic burnout is real and it’s hitting hard.
Give a bitch a break. This has been the school year from hell.
Hand a nightmare that Tim didn’t actually die, but he just didn’t want to let me know he was alive for the past 5 years.
Teachers are humans too. If you’re a parent/guardian, please remember that.
My New Year’s resolution is the same as every year: just make it through.
I hate PTSD. Trauma does some horrible things to the brain.
I hate having chronic illnesses while living in America. My next treatment option for my endometriosis is surgery, but I can’t afford another surgery right now. And my Dr doesn’t want to give me pain pills, so my only option is to continue to deal with it.

One of the biggest enigmas of ADHD is how quickly your brain can get overwhelmed with the idea of work. All of the possibilities collected into one massive, undoable task. It makes everything and anything feel impossible to even start.

My classroom may be a little wild, but I wouldn’t trade it. It’s so full of love and interesting personalities. These little minds are learning and growing. Many of them have trauma they are working through and I’m happy to be a safe space for them.
