Genuine question raised by salaried individual: If my income is 1 Cr, I will pay Tax of Around 40 Lakhs to government. But then also I will not use government facilities like Hospitals or school etc. Now what if I loose my job and my income dropped to Zero. What will government do for me. What did I get? Such a lame argument. Won't stack up anywhere in the world. Don't underestimate police, army and government. Your ability to generate this kind of money exist because of this structure. It will take 15 minutes for someone to hijack all that. Be grateful and stay humble. If you lose your job, you will find another one of the structure stays.
Your taxes are the "paying it forward" bit for the next generation. The government provides some backbone for every person to be safe, learn, grow and thrive. Lakhs go to govt. colleges; millions enjoy healthcare and primary education offered by the government, crores enjoy telecom subsidy and banking guarantees; and tens of crores accept the shield provided by the army. Amidst this large number sits a tiny proportion who get a get a dollop of luck from the universe (perhaps as monetary inheritance perhaps as genes) and go on to earn Rs. 1 crore or some such. They then pay more taxes so as pay for the next set of lakhs/crores to get these privileges. You are never going to get pound-for-pound value for the taxes you pay if you earn a crore. But the notion that you should get that value is flawed. The other way of looking at this is very interesting. If the government did not provide security, law-and-order and a semblance of governance; the Rs. 1 crore income earners would be very vulnerable in a wild-west scenario. The govt. machinery has kindly created a mechanism to keep anarchy at bay - something super-important for the Rs. 1 crore gang.

@PratibhaGoyal There is no genuine incentive for paying taxes except not being raided by IT people and getting high amount of loans. And thus people evade taxes as much as possible.
@PratibhaGoyal Unfortunately, there is no safety net for salaried professionals
@PratibhaGoyal Just remember one thing… no benefit will ever come to the honest tax payers from the Govt. Pay your taxes and get lost in oblivion. That’s what the Govt. does to the tax payers because you are not their vote bank.
@PratibhaGoyal If you don’t pay tax, how will Kejriwal renovate his home for 55 crores ?
@PratibhaGoyal With this fraud tweet, you have proved that you dont have the abilitiy to make 1 cr, who is keeping you safe? Where is the equipment for the forces coming from? Who is paying for infra ? Etc. joker
