This is what we've been building at @PowerUP. 75,000 households reached. Electric cooking, financed through carbon markets, accessed through PAYG. Next: an 80,000 household project in Uganda alone. Not talking about potential. Building at scale, right now.
Some countries don't have this problem. Uganda: 99% renewable electricity grid. Ethiopia: largest hydro dam in Africa, 90% of grid on hydro Nepal: 45GW untapped hydro, government target for universal electric stove ownership: 2030 Their cooking fuel flows through their own grids
This week the IEA published an emergency report on the energy shock. One of its ten urgent recommendations to governments: Switch to electric cooking. Reduce dependence on imported LPG. That's the global energy authority, not a clean cooking startup.
