@PhysInHistory In the near future another less known personality will be named as one of the greats in science. A man who accidentally discovered the connective tissue in the Universe. Died in 2013 but his work is still untapped. Can anyone guess 🤔
Newton’s own copy of the Principia Mathematicais a treasure trove of scientific history .. it contains his handwritten notes and calculations (which he used to revise the book for its second edition) .. these annotations offer a rare glimpse into Newton’s mind as he engaged with his critics and refined his theories The process of amending the Principia began in the 1690s (with Newton set on producing a new edition) .. despite the efforts of Nicolas Fatio de Duillier and David Gregory it was not until Richard Bentley (who had been instrumental in the establishment of the University Press in Cambridge) noticed the scarcity and high price of the first edition copies that the project gained momentum Bentley managed to persuade Newton to allow a second edition to be prepared at the Cambridge University Press .. Roger Cotes (the young Plumian Professor of astronomy in Cambridge) was recommended by Bentley to supervise the edition for Newton .. and this collaboration led to substantial improvements in the text of the Principia .. despite the delays introduced by the need to rewrite several parts of Books II and III The edition has since been digitised and you can access it here cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk
Exquisite as well as thought provoking, Processor. For Sir Isaac Newton, as does Mr Musk, understood the power of -> X to rid his writing (humanity) of inaccurate thoughts, ideas, and unrealized facts to provide absolute full clarity and awareness in his writing. (To all of Humanity)
@PhysInHistory Any signs of plagiarism, any missing citations 😒
@PhysInHistory Isaac Newton’s "Principia Mathematica" manuscript, volume from which the first edition was printed. Royal Society.
@PhysInHistory I love philosophy. Mathematics I find very fascinating, but I wish I would have a more complex understanding of this kind of world view. I guess that is why I am an artistic person.
@PhysInHistory We need to rewrite our school books. They should have latest discoveries like Mobile element in Genetics, etc
