It seems literally impossible for certain trans activists to grasp that not everything is about them. The only rape crisis centre in Edinburgh prior to the opening of Beira’s Place was run by a trans-identified man who publicly told potential service-users they would be ‘challenged on their bigotry’ if they didn’t agree he was a woman. Meanwhile a ‘non-binary’ man subsequently convicted of rape, and found by the sentencing judge to harbour serious hostility towards women, was permitted to access the centre’s services. Trans-identified men in Edinburgh were better served than women when it came to accessing support after rape or sexual assault. Beira’s Place, which I founded and fund in its entirety, gives women a choice. The female-led, female-centred model of support is provably preferred by most female survivors. We know for a fact that some of our service-users didn’t seek help before we opened, because they didn’t want a male providing their therapy, or for men to be accessing what they needed to feel was a completely safe space. However, if a woman was happy with a male support worker, or with males also using the service, she could of course choose the alternative rape crisis centre. Some men, trans-identified and not, disagree that even the most vulnerable and traumatised women should be allowed to exclude men from rape crisis centres, yet many women see a male-free space and service as the last or only chance of putting their lives back together. It takes immense courage even to pick up the phone to access help after rape. Yet, even at their worst moment, these women told by activists like Willoughby that their priority should be centering his feelings, pandering to his ‘identity’ and pretending that they don’t recognise his narcissism and aggression as a quintessentially male response to not being given what he wants, by women. The simple truth is that no decent male, however they identify, would ever seek to breach the boundaries of women whose sense of self and safety has been shattered by their experience of male violence or rape. 98% of sexual predators are male. 88% of sexual crime victims are female. Beira’s Place exists because I saw an unmet need and the fact that we’ve been so busy since we’ve opened proves, not that women hate trans-identified men, but that this is where women feel safe enough to deal with trauma they might otherwise have had to carry with them forever.

This woman has ZERO self-pride and ZERO self-worth. She’s standing in the welfare office filming herself like she just won the lottery — giddy about scoring Section 8, WIC, a free bus pass, backpacks, and lunch. All paid for by people who actually work. No shame. No embarrassment. Pure entitlement, served with duck lips and tattoos. This is the exact culture the left has spent decades building: turn people into proud dependents, celebrate the handout as an “achievement,” and mock anyone who still believes in earning their own way. Real dignity comes from self-reliance. From busting your ass, building a family that doesn’t need the government as a crutch, and teaching your kids that free stuff has a cost — usually your soul and your future. This video is disgusting because it normalizes the rot. The welfare state didn’t lift her up; it trapped her in a mindset where collecting checks feels like winning. We don’t need more of this. We need work requirements, time limits, and a culture that says: stand on your own two feet or get out of the way. America was built by people with pride — not people bragging about their latest government score.

In April 1967, a 20-year-old farm boy from South Dakota did something that would change the Vietnam War—he fell off his ship. Seaman Douglas Hegdahl was standing on the deck of the USS Canberra when the recoil from a five-inch gun knocked him overboard into the Gulf of Tonkin. He treaded water for five hours, then swam for seven more. When fishermen finally pulled him from the sea, they handed him to North Vietnamese forces. The interrogators didn't believe his story. They thought he was a spy, a commando, someone important. They beat him and threw him into the Hanoi Hilton—the most notorious prison of the war. But Hegdahl made a choice that would save hundreds of lives. He became "The Incredibly Stupid One." He played up his country accent. He stared wide-eyed at things he'd never seen before. When they ordered him to write a confession, he claimed he couldn't read or write. The guards, used to illiterate peasants in their own country, believed him completely. They even assigned someone to teach him—who eventually gave up, convinced Hegdahl was hopeless. What they didn't know was that Hegdahl had a photographic memory and the discipline of a soldier. Because they thought he was harmless, the guards let him sweep the prison yards. He walked between cellblocks. He memorized the layout of the camp and the route into Hanoi. He even sabotaged enemy trucks by adding dirt to their fuel tanks. But his real mission was gathering intelligence. With the help of fellow prisoner Joe Crecca, Hegdahl set out to memorize something impossible: the names, ranks, Social Security numbers, and personal details of over 250 fellow American prisoners. How do you remember 250 names under torture, starvation, and the constant threat of death? He used "Old MacDonald Had a Farm." Every day, Hegdahl repeated the names to the tune of the children's song. Over and over. Names became melodies. Data became memory. While the guards laughed at the "stupid" American humming in the prison yard, he was conducting one of the most important intelligence operations of the war. When North Vietnam offered early release as a propaganda tool, Hegdahl initially refused—prisoners had sworn an oath to leave together or not at all. But his commanding officer, Captain Dick Stratton, ordered him to go. "You're carrying the names," Stratton told him. "Their families need to know they're alive." On August 5, 1969, Hegdahl walked out of the Hanoi Hilton. When he returned to the United States, he recited every single name. Every rank. Every identifying detail. His memory transformed 250+ missing men into confirmed prisoners of war. At the Paris Peace Talks in 1970, he confronted North Vietnamese negotiators with firsthand accounts of torture—and the pressure he brought helped secure the eventual release of all American POWs. That farm boy who "fell off a ship" had just freed an entire army. Decades later, in 1998, Hegdahl stood before an audience of veterans and families at the Richard Nixon Library. Thirty years after his release, he stood and sang—to the tune of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm"—the names of 256 men he'd memorized in captivity. Not one name forgotten. Sometimes the most dangerous people are the ones your enemy thinks are harmless. Sometimes genius wears the mask of stupidity. For years, we were told to calm down. “Democratic socialism” was just healthcare. Just fairness. Just workers getting a seat at the table. Stop being paranoid. Stop seeing communists under the bed. Stop noticing the ideological trail of bodies stretching across the last century. Then they started talking. “The most important thing we can do is take America down from within.” “We’re here to overthrow the entire capitalist state.” “Our goal is communism.” And now: “It should not be controversial to say ‘Death to the U.S.’” Well, shit. That escalated from “free college” pretty quickly. This is the part where the same people who spent years sneering at conservatives will suddenly demand a 14-hour seminar on context. They’ll say the clips are isolated. The speakers are fringe. The words don’t mean what the words mean. “Take America down” is apparently a nuanced policy position. “Our goal is communism” is just youthful exuberance. “Death to the U.S.” needs a fact-check and three sociology professors. No. They said it. Out loud. The vindication here is not that every Democrat is secretly plotting revolution. The vindication is that conservatives were right to take the radical left seriously while the media treated explicit hostility toward America as a branding problem. The brochure says “democracy.” The activists say “overthrow.” The PR team says “reform.” The leaders say “communism.” And when someone says “Death to the U.S.,” maybe stop asking us why we’re suspicious of the movement and start asking why the hell you keep making excuses for it.
