Sources: The University of Washington is finalizing a six-year deal to hire Pat Chun, the athletic director at rival Washington State, as the school’s new athletic director. He’s been the AD at Washington State since 2018 and also worked as FAU’s athletic director.
Chun brings a depth of experience in the Big Ten, which UW enters next season. Chun worked 15 years at Ohio State, overseeing everything from external relations to serving as the administrative liaison for football. He’ll replace Troy Dannen, who left for Nebraska last week.
@PeteThamel @wilnerhotline Solid selection, definitely up to the task!
@PeteThamel Dang, the UW is really leaving the PAC-2 cupboard bare.
@PeteThamel He refused to hire Lane at FAU and was ultimately overruled by the President and Trustees Chairman and then shown the door. Bum.
@PeteThamel This is just devious by Washington
@PeteThamel Former PAC schools to the PAC-2 the past few months
@PeteThamel Jeez everybody is picking Washington state clean. Good grief.
