When life hands you a ton of celery (because the plant got so big it started blocking the water flow and you had to kill it), you first find out that there is a thing called celery soup, and then you make it for dinner. Next time with a bit of bacon. Good anyway!

Chile Relleno, here we come. Turns out the broiling in the oven perfectly split off the skin; never happened before with store bought Poblano peppers. #delicious

Invented a new dish: 5-foot-leek-potato-soup with bacon. Because it came from a 5ft+ leek “tree” grown in my backyard #hydroponics system. It was delicious.

Hydroponics pump shorted out. Fried my poor MOSFET. Got so hot it actually burnt off the plastic insulation of a nearby wire. How is your Saturday afternoon?

The tomatillos are ripe and falling off the plant. Delicious. They work well in backyard #hydroponics. The seed packet said they don't like the cold, but here we are in January in Northern California.

One of these cost $0.99 at the grocery store, and one I got from the backyard hydroponics system. Can you guess which is which? I can't tell which tasted better because I ate only one of them, the other one wasn't so motivating.

Did anybody say #hydroponic roots could be long? This was cherry tomato plant. And the other side of the roots was almost as long, but I had to cut it to get the plant out of the system.

Broccoli time! First harvest. This is a big plant, basically too large for this #hydroponics system: the roots are enormous and it takes up a lot of space. But it tasted good anyway.
