@PRisUs I wish people would start calling it earned vs paid media -- you earn engagement on social and media coverage.. you pay for ads and anything your organization pays people to do on social and digital.

@PRisUs In fact it's one of the most important challenges for a PR, walking that line between news and advertising and never wandering over into the latter. AND getting clients to understand that. The need for a genuine news angle.
@PRisUs also - don't give your press person a already written press release and say "can you send this out?"
@PRisUs This is another area that requires continued education for clients. They can control ads (what they say, when they run, etc) but they can not control earned media.
