It was best for Assistant Commissioner PAUL NYATHI to shut up than release these statements which plunge the name of @PoliceZimbabwe into further disrepute. These @PoliceZimbabwe officers were clearly deployed on a dark operation by their political commanders. Had they been on an official duty; they should have conducted themselves professionally. These are senior police officers each with at least 15 years work experience. They know very well that when making an arrest, as an officer you; 1. Identify yourself 2. Inform a suspect of their charge 3. If you have a warrant or arrest, you present the warrant to the suspect. Their failure to do any of the above is proof that; 1. It was a dark, partisan, political and illegal operation. Despite clear identification requests by @gladyshlatywayo, @bbmhlanga and journalists present to Detective Assistant Inspectors PANGANAI GWATI, CLIFFORD MUGABIRI and MUNONOKI 2. They don’t have a warrant of arrest for @pmkwananzi. The one @PoliceZimbabwe mentioned in their press statement is fake. @pmkwananzi has no active case before the courts, they wanted to abduct him and disrupt the @CCCZimbabwe press conference 3. The @PoliceZimbabwe created a fake arrest warrant as cover up for their botched abduction attempt and successful disruption of @CCCZimbabwe presser. To save face, they might even go on ahead to arrest and detain him as part of the wider cover up of this exposed dark operation.
