Clarify? Sure… I attend SSPX masses and owe my conversion to our priests. Not a single lay person or priest is excommunicated (only the 6 Bishops, but technically that is in question too). If you make this claim, you can’t read a Vatican document. Why do I attend SSPX masses? Before I converted to Catholicism, I was genuinely interested in learning more and the local parish turned me away and said they didn’t “do spiritual formation or answer questions.” My wife reverted to the Church during COVID. The local diocesan parish shut down during Covid and denied the sacraments. We moved for my work and the SSPX was the only place we could go to receive the sacraments, which were absolutely necessary at this point. We didn’t know much then, but it felt right. I even received explicit written approval from my diocesan bishop to attend SSPX masses. I met with the priest every week for 18 months and went through the entire catechism and eventually was entered into the Church. My wife and I had our marriage convalidated (with diocesan approval), and my children received first holy communion and confirmation here. My son is an altar server and I teach the catechism class now. My wife and daughter are in the choir. The local parish has altar girls in mini skirts, clown masses, and makes a mockery of the Sacrifice of the Mass. I can’t describe to you how bad it is. The SSPX is not “schismatic” at all, as that requires the intent to separate from the Catholic Church and form your own hierarchy. This is not the case as all. People like you are tribal and judge fellow Catholics like me who are simply seeking to form their families in the Faith of their Grandparents and that of the great Saints and Martyrs. I will not be lectured by you or anyone on what is best for MY family’s salvation. There is an absolute CRISIS in the Church, an emergency. I pray for the Pope and the whole Church and am saddened greatly by its current condition. Is that “CLEAR” enough for you??
