Umm. Those of you saying "Bring back Mixer!" You do remember when they slammed on the breaks, left you all in the dark and pulled the plug with little to no warning thus shattering a LOT of people's livelihoods, right? I mean...Pepperidge Farm Remembers.
@OhNoPorkchop I remember that not even 3 months after I retired from teaching & basically threw away my Master's degree to pursue streaming as a full-time Mixer Partner, I woke up to a TWEET saying the place of my current livelihood was gone. So yeah no. I'm good. ✌️
@OhNoPorkchop I'd never seen so much weird spam as when I popped in to a mixer cast a couple of times. Was like another planet.
@OhNoPorkchop I feel that mixer gave smaller streamers a start. It allowed them to be seen and grow with not just pc players but console as well. I meet some great people on mixer and just miss the platform and how it allowed people to interact no matter your size. exposure was good
@OhNoPorkchop Mixer was never the dumpster fire that Twitch is...and there was a real feeling of community. A group of people, individually and corporately, striving toward a common purpose.
@OhNoPorkchop I would list all of Twitch's controversies, but the tweet can only be so long.
@OhNoPorkchop Yep. I am grateful for the memories and friends I made on Beam/Mixer but after what happened, I wouldn't go back if Mixer came back. It wouldn't be the same and I wouldn't want to risk it shutting down on me again.
@OhNoPorkchop I miss the technology of it. I only know a little bit of the behind the scene stuff really had a hand in destroying it, but the technology was far superior to Twitch and the interaction and community stuff was still a leap ahead. I greatly wish Microsoft had not bought out Beam..
@OhNoPorkchop People want their platform back, not the corporate overlord running it again. I miss mixer, streaming hasn’t been the same since it closed up. It only closed because of Microsoft not wanting to invest in it anymore. They wasted so much funding on 3 streamers.
