Today, on #WorldRefugeeDay, we joined partners at the Salakovac Reception Centre near Mostar to reaffirm solidarity with refugees, displaced persons and returnees. "Sustainable return requires more than going home - it requires security, access to rights and services, and opportunities to build a dignified future," says Julija Vitanova, Head of the Mission's Field Office Mostar. Through discussions on return, inclusion and protection of rights, participants highlighted the importance of ensuring safety, dignity and equal opportunities for all those forced to flee their homes.

The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina and @unwomenbih today brought together the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Interior of the Federation of BiH, cantonal Ministers of Interior, police commissioners, representatives of police agencies, and international partners to discuss the next steps towards the introduction of electronic monitoring of protection measures in the Federation of BiH. This concrete step can strengthen the protection of survivors of domestic violence, improve institutional accountability, and help prevent repeated violence and femicide. Concrete next steps have been agreed upon, and their implementation will require consistency and responsibility from all actors, alongside continuous monitoring and support for the implementation of the agreed measures by the OSCE Mission and UN Women in BiH, to ensure that protection for survivors is real and not merely formal. Earlier this week, we took part in Neum Leadership Forum organised by @UN_BiH @unwomenbih @UNFPABiH @UNDPBiH.   Addressing the Forum, @oscebih Chief of Policy and Planning, Maja Handžiska Trendafilova, delivered a strong message of support for women assembly members, mayors, and political party leaders who face online harassment, threats, and abuse.   Political debate must be grounded in respect, dialogue, and open exchange of ideas rather than intimidation, hate speech, or violence. When women in politics are targeted through online abuse, hate speech, or incitement to violence, it not only harms individuals but also weakens democratic participation and the quality of public discourse. Such acts must be effectively addressed and sanctioned by the competent authorities.   The OSCE Mission to BiH reaffirms its commitment to promoting a political environment where all voices can participate freely and safely, and where respect, inclusion, accountability, and democratic dialogue prevail.

Kroz otvorenu diskusiju i grupni rad, učesnici su podijelili pozitivna iskustva u zajednici, identificirali ključne izazove i razvili prijedloge inicijativa brzog učinka usmjerene na jačanje povjerenja, saradnje i društvene kohezije. Aktivnost je organizirana u okviru projekta “Možemo bolje”, koji finansira Evropska unija, a zajednički provode @eubih, @UN_BiH, @oscebih i @CoE_Sarajevo.
