@NickWilde149540 @Fairyfellina Yeah and local Bomb Squads will still sometimes defuse ordinance if possible in the case of military UXOs. If you have a full shell, instead of detonating it they remove the fuze and detonate that and then transport and secure remaining explosive. Not all defuses are detonations.
@NickWilde149540 @Fairyfellina Yes the ordinance is usually detonated but in very very rare circumstances a technician can disable it, remove the explosives, and render it inert. I have an M67 somewhere that my cousin gave to me. Army EOD and managed to get one and render it inert for me.
