Why the massive gap? Simple, they’re throwing out a big net, hoping fear does the work enforcement can’t. The real target was always 10,000 to 11,200 homes. They published a list 80x that size anyway. Fight back? There’s no legal precedent. This “appeals process” was invented this year: no case law, no track record, no protection. Refuse to pay? Then surrender your residency and become City Hall’s income-tax hostage for life. Karl Marx wrote it plainly in 1848: “The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property.” I bet $10 Zohran’s got a copy sitting in Gracie Mansion. Put me in the Comptroller role this November, and I will hunt down and expose every inch of this government overreach whose objective is to steal your private property.

For anyone watching this, unaware at it’s being wild propaganda, you should know that the worst landlord in New York City is, across every single objective data point, NYCHA, the government itself. Of course there are bad private landlords, but to suggest the solution is to put more properties in government hands after the government has the worst track record for property management in the history of human civilization, is myopia of psychotic degrees. Mamdani’s decision NOT to knock on the doors of NYCHA apartments is what makes this so so so appallingly deceptive.
