I need to vent about this supposed #BTC “sell-side liquidity crisis” I’m seeing some people get excited about in my feed. 😡 Apparently, the big Wall St. institutions (ETFs) are “gobbling up” all the available BTC. This is wrong on many fronts. 1) First, markets don’t work…

What’s more, the (fleeting) ATH in BTC was against a backdrop of strong ETF inflows, while that for gold is against a backdrop of ETF outflows – so, if it isn’t flows, and it isn’t rate cut expectations, what is pushing the gold price up? Glad you asked... (chart via @business)
