Many people believed photography could not be art because a machine, not human creativity, made it. From the beginning, artists dismissed photography and saw it as a threat to “real art.” Even at the first presentations in 1839, classical painter Paul Delaroche reportedly blurted, “From today, painting is dead!” Two decades later, the poet Charles Baudelaire wrote, in a review of the Salon of 1859: “If photography is allowed to supplement art in some of its functions, it will soon supplant or corrupt it altogether, thanks to the stupidity of the multitude which is its natural ally.’’

Physical supply chain reality: Semiconductor fabs require hundreds of global suppliers providing ultra-pure chemicals and gases . High-performance compute requires conditioned multi-megawatt power and constant manual hardware maintenance. AI coding is entirely downstream of human mining, heavy manufacturing, precision optics, and electrical grid operations. Outside of someone using AI to create a deadly virus, I don't fear extinction by LLMs.

@AIandDesign I've been looking at a lot of Higgsfield films. Even though the visuals are good, what is considered acting is not. Sometimes the dialogue is off, but even when it isn't, the quality still isn't there. Maybe they're pushing the short films out too quickly without proper editing.
