Around 6 weeks ago, I had a mild stroke out of the blue. Dad passing away, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overworking out —any of these could be possible reasons. I've gone from having a big droop in the face and not being able to read or write to having a slight droop but being able to read and write more. From being absent-minded to more present-minded. So, 3 to 6 months for full recovery. I wondered why a person who's fit and takes care of himself could be affected. The doctor said you need to know when you need to shift the gears down a bit. Slightly broken, but still getting my treadmill count. 🙂
@Nithin0dha I’m 44, fit (triathlete, IRONMAN swimmer) and found out I had heart disease in November 2021 when I was 41. Over 90% blockage in two key arteries and narrowing in two others. I read “Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease” by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, a leading cardiologist & head of Cardiac Wellness at Cleveland Clinic. Esselstyn’s research states that nutrition is the leading cause of heart disease, regardless of how fit you are. Meat, oil and dairy are the main culprits. He advocates a diet that is vegan, oil and nut-free. Essentially a WFPB (Whole Foods plant based) meal plan is the way to go. I strongly recommend you read his book. Heart disease is the number one killer around the world. More than cancer and diabetes. Nutrition is something we have control over. If making changes here allows us to both prevent and reverse heart disease, then it’s definitely worth a shot. Good luck and happy to talk more about my learnings and experiences.
@Nithin0dha If possible go for CT Angio if not done already! 7-8 hours of regular sleep is the key! Wishing for a faster recovery! 🙌
@Nithin0dha Hope you recover well and get back to full fitness soon..
Get well soon. I flew 3 weeks ago to Namma Bengaluru from NJ on receiving a call no son wants to hear. My father was taken to emergency at around 3AM EST as his oxygen levels dropped to SPO2 readings of 8ish and I received a mid night call that I wished was not true. I have been in and around South Bengaluru hospitals ICU and kept thinking on what could we have done differently. Why were there no readings of any condition last year when we had him all checked at the best facilities. The only thing I could settle myself are with these thoughts: “hindsight is most often 20/20”, “Change is permanent” and “Everyday is a second chance to do everything you have wanted to do…Be the best version of yourself”… My dad has gotten a little better and I write this awaiting an angiogram at one of the hospitals. You are an incredible human and losing a parent is extremely painful and I came very very close to it. My dad ended up being a tad luckier and a fighter and is currently recovering.❤️🩹 I understand what “filial piety” means to all of us. It is a journey of strong familial values, love and respect ✊. #StayStrong
@Nithin0dha Your strength of mind and physical fitness will enable full recovery very soon. My prayers n best wishes. We are all there for you.
