After struggling to find his place in a league that seemed ready to write him off, Markelle Fultz has become a trusted leader for a talented Magic team. In the process, the former No. 1 pick created a legacy for a generation of players coming behind him. theringer.com/nba/2024/3/19/…
@NickFriedell I certainly don’t think the fultz move was part of the process, and neither do several former ringer writers from Philadelphia
@NickFriedell Welcome back Nick. Fantastic read! I’m glad @BillSimmons found a home for you @ringer
I still really like this kid….he shouldn’t have been a number #1 pick, but that wasn’t all his fault. That was scouts and GMs faults, which put way to much pressure on a kid that…. A) wasn’t ready for that level of pressure and scrutiny and B) wasn’t able to live up to those lofty goals talent wise. I mean look how many players have been chewed up and spit out in Philly since the “Trust the process” era. I’m glad he’s been able to figure it out somewhat, and be a solid NBA player. I feel bad that he will have #1 overall next to his name for ever tho which diminishes what he has been able to grow to.
@NickFriedell “In a lot of ways, he was the culmination of the Process” - that was actually Bryan colangelo. Nothing he did was related to “the process.” ☝🏿
@NickFriedell This was such an awesome piece, @NickFriedell
@NickFriedell damn, this sounds like a great read. Unfortunately it's on the ringer so I'll never click it. Sucks to suck!
