There is no need for this when we have effective models of capable community environments, with practice led positive behaviour support models, that would address this disregard of human rights.
There are over 2000 people with a learning disability and autistic people currently stuck in inpatient hospitals. Each year, more than £500 million is spent on keeping people detained in these hospitals, when they could be living in their local community with the right support.

Approximately 75% of people with learning disabilities are not known to systems and will have greater health needs. They will pass through our services for acute treatment but never receive preventative health input; such as annual health checks.
