Today's Tuesday Tip is a short one. Please keep an ear out for when you start using jargon and acronyms to explain what you do to people. Unless you are in a peer to peer network, be aware that people don't have your knowledge, your expertise or your training and experience.
Businesses that come together from a myriad of backgrounds won't necessarily have the awareness of the acronyms that are used in your world. And when people don't understand, they very often don't say anything...they simply nod, but really what is happening, is they don't want
to look or feed stupid. They don't understand what you are saying and if they don't understand, how can they further help to support you through referrals and introductions? Aim to keep your language simple and by doing so, you make your content inclusive.
