Coincidentally, tomorrow April 24th is 'JavaScript Naked Day' js-naked-day.org
JS Naked Day promotes the fact that websites should work without a dependency on JavaScript.
Disable JS on your site tomorrow & ensure that it remains usable. & inspire others to do the same!
Disability allyship has 2 key pillars: 1. Ask disabled people what we need, 2. Based on those answers, take action to remove barriers.

@mfateev@temporalio Virtually all workflows are better with a state diagram that describes each step/transition, regardless of how you code it.
And the trivial ones that aren't don't need Temporal anyway.
I'm not talking about a strict state machine pattern, but rather state machines in general.
Strong disagree with this take…
“Low code” is often used to negatively describe products that obfuscate / restrict access to source code.
All of @statelyai tools COMPLIMENT the source code.
I typically write code by hand and export diagrams for less technical stakeholders.

Watching the latest @standupmaths video, when this diagram appeared…
if( this.status === IN_AIR &&
onGround === false ) {
logger.warning(“Go follow @DavidKPiano”)
}
Too bad @Minecraft is written in Java, otherwise I would recommend @statelyai 😅

XState now has event emitters! This will make it much easier to attach custom actions to your state machines.
→ Emit an event:
emit({ type: 'someEvent' })
→ Listen for an emitted event:
actor.on('someEvent', ev => { ... })

🔥 HOT TAKE ALERT 🔥
Prioritizing interactivity over simple hypermedia perpetuates ableism.
Flashy graphics \ transitions rarely enhance the experience for users w/ #A11Y needs. More often they actively harm usability of native HTML.
It’s 2024, folks still “A11Y is hard”

Heaven forbid we begin with semantic hypermedia that communicates our content with *ALL* users.
Then we could “progressively enhance” the experience with interactivity and fancy styling.
Nah… that’s too complicated. We probably need a framework instead 🙃

agree w/dan: you can achieve richer interactivity w/react, by itself, than you can w/htmx, by itself
otoh you have to ask:
1) how important is that interactivity?
2) at what cost of complexity?
3) can some client-side scripting close the gap at a lower level of complexity?
