@MuseZack Ironically, it could have easily been a back door sequel to Close Encounters. All it needed was one line of dialogue to establish a connection, like, “reminds me of what happened in Wyoming back in the seventies” which is what I told my wife when we saw it.

@jeannevb If you want to be highly productive, you kinda have to. Unless you’re one of those writing machines who can just crank it out all day long, it helps to be disciplined, focused, and meeting your deadlines; self imposed or not.

@LukeBarnett You’re correct. The quality of the gen AI I’m seeing (that most people haven’t - not the usual Slop) it’s more than good enough for most verticals. While budgets vary, most live verts run b/t $100k-$150k/series. With the coming AI, that’s going to drop to $25k-$50k, maybe less.

@mackaybell Yep, and it should surprise exactly nobody. I saw it coming, learned to write new formats, developed new skills, took responsibility for my own success. Now I’m wrapping on my 2nd vertical series this year, have a short filming this summer & about to start a video editing biz.

@GMFWashington Respectfully disagree. I used to run movie theaters and watched the audience all the time. Unless you have a specific interest in cinema, the audience DOES NOT CARE how the sausage was made. They just want to be entertained.

@AdrianWerner @TomAandTom1 I’ve worked in tech. Tech will never stop improving. It’s the nature of the beast. And value is assigned by the market. Unfortunately, effort is irrelevant to value UNLESS the market decides it’s relevant. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.
