In Lakota Culture, the word for two spirit people is Winkté. 🌈🪶✨ We are taught that these people have the special powers given by Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon! Winkté’s hold a high regard and are loved within the tribe, they often held high council to tribal chiefs. My Uncle(Lekshi) always tells stories of how two winkté’s sat as advisers for Tasunké Witko (Crazy Horse). He tells how these two warriors charged the hill with him during first-wave-surge at the battle of Greasy Grass! aka, the Battle of Little Big Horn! It was Custers last stand! 🦬…
@Native3rd I appreciate you so much. Thank you for educating me. 💛✨
@Native3rd @KlatuBaradaNiko How would you feel about the word being borrowed into english.
@Native3rd @wingfoote That is so interesting. Unfortunately, we never are taught this in school. We would all be better for it. Thanks for the excellent education!
@Native3rd Everyone held importance in the tribe. The superior way of life.
@Native3rd So few understand this, instead they spew hatred regarding things they know nothing about. Yet claim they worship a god who loves everyone, except certain people. The middle east desert religions have caused much pain & suffering for thousands of years now & continues today.
