So there's a new Ultimate Spider-Man. And it's basically "What if Spider-Man didn't get his powers until he was a middle aged guy with a wife and kids and responsibilities?" And I just. Wow. That's some transparent shit, my dudes.
I just wanna point out when all the classic Spider-Man artists and writers were middle aged, they were writing stories for kids to enjoy. Now we got middle-aged writers and artists making Spider-Man wish fulfillment for other middle-aged dudes and that. That is concerning.
@Nash076 People have wanted Peter to have an actual adult life for decades.
@Nash076 I think this is just a pretty bad misread of the situation. At this point, fans of the character who are even in their early 20s have been BEGGING for a story like this because the character has been stagnant for so long in the name of preserving his youth.
@Nash076 The 5th printing just hit FOC this week.
@Nash076 I’m happy to have a Spider-Man that reflects my reality again when I was kid picking up comics Peter was marrying MJ and navagating being an adult, when Quesada decided to regress Peter for the last 2 decades that was a big mistake. Now we are getting that Peter back
@Nash076 And the comic is top tier. Jonathan Hickman is one of the best writers out there. Never thought I'd see him do a solo Spider-Man series. You should probably sit this one out.
@Nash076 And it’s the most interesting Spider-Man comics have been in a long time.
