@JaredcWellman Two questions on this difficult question: 1) is there no room for any rehabilitation and restoration in these cases? Is it really “one and done”? Is a whole lifetime of faithfulness wiped out by one slippage? Is this consistent with our understanding of grace?
@Jimbo3420 @JaredcWellman While I’m not Jared Wellman, I suspect my view on this is similar to a lot of folks here. No, there can be no restoration to vocational ministry once a pastor does something like this. The restoration is to the fellowship of the church, not to a position of power/influence in it.
@TDGresham @Jimbo3420 @JaredcWellman Its not disqualifying to be an instrument for the Spirit in plenty of other ways but as a Pastoral Minister 100% NO! Imagine the introduction. This is our Pastor....he has sinned against the flesh abusively in our church community and he will lead you. Um no. Tough sell of Jesus.
