If no one is talking about something, protests that get people talking about it might create movement towards addressing it. With the very talked about Gaza war, I'm skeptical that shifting attention away from what's happening in Gaza to what's happening in San Francisco does.

@NGrossman81 It didn't change Gaza policy, but the protestors achieved what they wanted, which was attention. A nice tacit admission that the protest is about the protestors.
@NGrossman81 This is the reverse of everything Saul Alinsky advocated throughout his career organizing for change. Yes, some protests are going to afflict the powerful & the comfortable. But building support was the key. Civil Rights remains the case in pt. I mean, 9/11 got ppl talking.
