Ongoing frigid temperatures have prompted TVA to request VOLUNTARY energy curtailment across the NES service area. Customers are asked to reduce electricity use by following simple measures in your home. Turn off lights when not in the room, hold off on doing laundry and running the dishwasher. Cook meals in the microwave, air fryer or toaster oven, rather than a large capacity electric oven. For more energy saving tips, visit nespower.com/ways-to-save/e…. Keep following NES on social media for ongoing updates. #EnergySavingTips
UPDATE: TVA has ended their request for voluntary energy curtailment. We encourage customers to continue following energy saving tips to help manage their next power bill. Temperatures are not predicted to return to seasonal levels until later in the weekend.
@NESpower @NashSevereWx Step up our grid. Add more nuclear and solar. Make each home energy independent with solar and batteries. Enough of this sort of appeal 🙄
@NESpower I bet my laundry and dishes use up less electricity than the powerful lighting and sound equipment used by the bands in those downtown Nashville live music venues. Are the hotels being asked to volunteer to hold off washing linens for tourists?
@NESpower Never forget:
@NESpower @pamelafurr But when can we all charge our electric cars?
@NESpower @NashSevereWx Turn off some lights on Broadway
@NESpower I turned off my gas heat and gas water heater to help!
