Backlash is brewing against a law passed in the Texas state Legislature which strips construction workers in Austin and Dallas of the right to water breaks every four hours and time to rest in the shade while on the job. nbcnews.com/science/scienc…
@NBCNews It strips no rights. It eliminates an unnecessary and redundant statute
@NBCNews Real conservatives wouldn’t complain about dying in the heat so a CEO can buy a 4th European vacation home.
@NBCNews I live and work in Texas. OSHA requires water breaks. That's federal law. Over 92 degrees you work 30 minutes of every hour for heavy work and 45 minutes of every hour for light duty work
@NBCNews Look at these woke warriors, getting all huffy about wanting “shade” and “water” so they can “not die”
@NBCNews Blatant lie. OSHA rules are required to be followed. NBC is nothing but DNC propaganda these days
@NBCNews Having worked in the housing construction business for a couple of years, I’d really like to know why anyone would think this is a good idea.
@NBCNews per article "pre-empts legislation at the local government level if it clashes with state law" water and shade is not mentioned in the new law
@NBCNews No water breaks for hack journalism.
@NBCNews Yeah that's a lie. There's federal regulations through OSHA that mandate water breaks, as well as mid morning/lunch breaks.
