This lad deserves to live in a world that understands, supports and values him. That he was treated in this way is horrifying, distressing and indicative of the hostility that autistic people still face, both overtly and covertly, in society. Beyond vile.
An autistic 10-year-old boy was assaulted by a police officer in school - a relative tells @clarefallon "it's devastating" and calls for officers to receive mandatory training on how to deal with children with similar conditions.
